The legal status and the organisation of the Department

The Department for Medical Devices of the Office of Health Authorisation and Administrative Procedures is an independent organization of the Health Care Administration, financed by the Government.

The Department for Medical Devices was established on the 1st April, 2000 by the order of the Minister of Health. The deed of foundation was published in the official journal of the Ministry of Health, No 2000/7.

The employees are civil servants.
Number of employees: 9
Education: 8 of them holding university degree
Language skill: 6 of them speaks at least one foreign language
Experience: all of them have several years of experience on professional field
The Department subcontracted several independent experts and advisers to be able to fulfil the demands of a law enforcement Department.

Due to the lack of human resources and capacity technically the Finance Department of the Ministry of Health manages the Autority's economical and financial affairs under the control of the Department.
